Money is the loudest of the five. It will happily take the foundation slot if faith leaves it open, and it is very good at the job for a while. That is what makes it dangerous. A failing marriage announces itself. A misplaced trust in money does not, until the number moves.
Stewardship is a different question than accumulation. Accumulation asks how much can I get. Stewardship asks what has been put in my hands, and what is it for. The second question is the one that produces generosity, margin, and a business that can survive a bad quarter without eating the family.
Practically, this pillar is mostly boring, and that is a feature. Spend less than you make. Carry margin. Give first rather than last. Know your numbers so they cannot ambush you.
When it is strong
- You could absorb a surprise this month without taking on new debt.
- Giving is the first line of the plan, not the leftover.
- You know what you earn, owe, spend and give without having to look it up.
Where it cracks
- You avoid opening the statement.
- Lifestyle rises exactly as fast as income, every time.
- The plan for the future is a vague hope that it works out.
The reps
Small enough to actually do on a bad week. That is the point. A rep you skip when life gets heavy was never a rep, it was a wish.

One page. In, out, owed, saved, given. Updated monthly. It takes twenty minutes.

Give first
Set it to happen before anything else clears. Generosity you have to feel like doing rarely happens.

Build the buffer
Work toward three months of expenses in cash. Margin turns a crisis into an inconvenience.

Kill one leak
Cancel one thing you pay for and do not use. Do it this week, not eventually.
