Say it until it is true

The creed

A creed is not a slogan. It is a set of words you repeat on purpose, until they stop being something you agree with and start being how you actually decide.

The F5 Creed

The goal of F5 is not simply to teach new ideas, it is to shape a new way of living. As these words become part of your vocabulary, my prayer is that they become part of your character. Because when our language begins to change, our thinking changes. When our thinking changes, our decisions change. And when our decisions change, our lives begin to reflect the image of Christ more clearly.

The mechanism

Four links, in one direction.

This is the part people skip. The creed is not asking you to feel differently. It is asking you to change the words, and then letting the chain do the rest.

  1. 01

    Language

It starts with the words you accept about yourself.

  2. 02

    Thinking

Words repeated long enough become the way you think.

  3. 03

    Decisions

How you think is what you choose when it is costly.

  4. 04

    A life

Choices stacked over years become a life that reflects Christ more clearly.

Out loud

One line for each pillar.

Read them in the morning, before the day starts making decisions for you. Five sentences takes about twenty seconds.

01 FAITH

I will build on the Rock, so that pressure never gets to tell me who I am.

02 FAMILY

I will win at home first, and give my people my presence and not just my provision.

03 FRIENDS

I will keep people close enough to sharpen me, and I will thank them when it stings.

04 FITNESS

I will train the body that carries the calling, on the days I feel it and the days I do not.

05 FINANCE

I will hold what I have been given with an open hand, and give first rather than last.

No limits. No excuses. Finish well.

Build your life on the Rock.

The foundation is a decision, not a mood.

Live with no limits.

Refuse the ceiling you were handed.

Finish the race well.

Starting is common. Finishing is the whole point.
